Cameroon let a halftime lead slip as they succumbed to a second successive defeat at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup with a 3-1 loss to Argentina on Thursday.

The Young Indomitable Lions took the lead through Francois Bere, an advantage they held until almost the hour-mark before Alexis Flores drew Argentina level.

The South American side took hold of the contest after that and further goals from Juan Pablo Krilanovich and then claimed the insurance goal via Matías Godoy.

Cameroon must now beat Spain in their final Group E game to stand any chance of advancing to the knockout rounds.

The other three African sides in the competition – Nigeria, Angola and Senegal all made it two wins from two and have already booked a Last 16 place.
