Nigeria will now depart Abuja Saturday morning on a chartered flight for a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia, officials have announced.

The earlier arrangement was for the team to depart on Friday.

Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye disclosed: ”We will now leave for Zambia on early Saturday morning. It is a direct flight and it will be five hours by air.

“The coaches have thought it out, they want us to train as many times as possible in Abuja and also rest well before match day.

“It won’t be counter-productive, we will get there in good time, rest well and have a feel of the pitch before we play.”

Before midnight more players are expected to swell the number of eight players who have already hit camp.

The team will begin training Tuesday by 10am and 4.15pm inside the Abuja National Stadium.
