Super Eagles stars have said they are tired of the antics of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as they have not been paid bonuses for the past three matches and now have to buy their tickets to fly down for matches.
The matches in question are last month’s AFCON qualifier against Tanzania as well as the friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg in May.
According to assistant sports editor of New Telegraph Tobi Emmanuel disclosed on a television programme Tuesday morning that he flew into the country with three of the Eagles players now in the training camp in Abuja.
“The players confided in me that they are tired of the antics of the NFF,” Emmanuel reported.
“They have not been paid match bonuses for the last three matches.”
The editor narrated how one of the players was embarrassed at the airport of his European base when he was told he did not have a ticket to pick up for him to fly down to Nigeria ahead of Sunday’s World Cup qualifier.
He also confirmed the NFF order that the players travel down to Nigeria on economy class.
“But the players defied this order and joined me in business class,” Emmanuel further recounted.
