There were no goals to write about with both of Sunday’s Absa Premiership fixtures ending in 0-0 draws.

It wasn’t the best start to the month of December as all four teams fired blanks, with much to improve on in coming weeks.

AmaZulu played host to KwaZulu-Natal rivals Maritzburg United at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi in the headline game of the day.

Neither team were able to really settle on what is an uneven playing surface on the country’s East Coast. Usuthu were the better team in the first-half, but the Team of Choice improved in the second as both teams ultimately did enough to earn a share of the spoils.

It was a similar story at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth where Chippa United battled Baroka FC.

The result leaves the Chilli Boys rooted to the bottom of the log standings, a point from safety. Baroka end the day in 12th while AmaZulu and Maritzburg head to the Limpopo province next weekend in 15th and 10th place respectively.
