Under-fire Micho Sredojevic says the officials were at fault as Zamalek were humbled 3-0 by TP Mazembe in their CAF Champions clash in Lubumbashi on Saturday.

Sredojevic’s position at the Cairo giants has been called to into question after a second loss in a week following a 2-1 Egyptian Premier League defeat to lowly ENPPI.

He believes his side did enough to get something from the game, but were undone by referee Mahamadou Keita from Mali and their own wastefulness in front of goal.

“Mazembe is a top team and they took their chances, but that second goal was a clear offside to me,” Sredojevic said.

“We played a good first half, but we lost our concentration after conceding the second goal. We missed numerous chances that were enough for us to get a draw out of the game.”

Unconfirmed reports in Egypt suggest that Zamalek’s notoriously combustible president Mortada Mansour has called an emergency meeting at the club for Sunday to discuss their declining fortunes.
