Guinea international ,Naby Keita, still harbours hopes of being best footballer on the African continent as he continues to shine for Red Bull Leipzig in the German Bundesliga.
While still playing for Red Bull Salzburg in 2014, the now 21-year-old told the media that: “I dream of being the best African footballer and playing one day for Barcelona.”
Two years on, Keita has made strides in the right direction, and while his dreams have changed slightly – the midfielder still intends on playing at the highest level for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I still have the same goal and it hasn’t changed,” Keita told FIFA.com. “When I was little, I really loved Barça. But today I just want to play for a big club – and Real Madrid or Bayern Munich are in that same category.”
Having been voted the Guinean player of the year in 2015 – while also claiming four team titles at RB Salzburg – Keita has gained valuable confidence in his quest to reach his goal; he is just taking things one step at a time:
“Those titles have given me even more desire to work and improve – I’m on the right track,” he added. “The next step is to be the best in Germany. People aren’t necessarily going to believe I can do it, but I’ll try to work hard with my team to get there.”
